In response to the UWUA Local 369 June 9th news release regarding their
complaint filed with the National Labor Relations Board related to Entergy, the
Company issued the following statement.
Our focus today and every day remains on continuing to safely operate the
plant, which we are doing.
We remain ready to resume discussions with Union leadership under the
guidance of the mediator. When the Federal Mediator calls the parties to the
table, Entergy is there. It is disappointing that Union leadership is seemingly
looking to circumvent this established mediation process. The Company believes
the federal mediation process is the success path to a contract that will enable
employees to come back to work, which has been our goal throughout this process.
Regarding employee wages and benefits, the average employee affected by this
union contract was paid more than $122,000 last year. The Company has offered
guaranteed increases of 2% each year for four years. In addition, the Company
agreed in writing to the Union demand for a premium health plan.
Until all the details in the Union's news release regarding the complaint are
fully disclosed and understood by the Company, our detailed response to specific
claims is best left to our official filing related to their complaint, which we
will file with the National Labor Relations Board.
