John Dinelli
Chief Operating Officer
John Dinelli is the chief operating officer, nuclear operations for Entergy Nuclear. In this role, he has overall responsibility for Arkansas Nuclear One, Grand Gulf, River Bend and Waterford 3 nuclear facilities. Dinelli is based out of the Nuclear Headquarters office in Jackson, Mississippi, and reports to Chief Nuclear Officer Kimberly Cook-Nelson.
Prior to assuming this role in 2022, Dinelli was the vice president, nuclear independent oversight for the fleet.
Dinelli’s 30-year nuclear career began in 1991 at Indian Point Energy Center Unit 3. He first worked at the plant as an engineering intern, then as an operations shift technical advisor with the New York Power Authority.
Throughout his years at IPEC, Dinelli held several positions of increasing responsibility, including control room supervisor, shift manager and operations manager. His final role at the site was as general manager of plant operations. Dinelli then completed a loaned assignment with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations as an organizational effectiveness lead evaluator.
In Sept. 2019, Dinelli was named site vice president for ANO, located in Russellville, Arkansas. Prior to ANO, he worked as the site vice president for Entergy’s Waterford 3 Steam Electric Station, located in Killona, Louisiana.
